"down to the hard line" |
| |
 |
| |
| People are already calling "down to the hard line"
|
| Lyonhart’s best work ever! |
| |
| |
"Gone
To Meet His Maker", from "down to the hard line" is really a gem of
a rocker that is sticking in my head. I keep playing it. I really
like the vocals on it. You have that quality of caring and yet
sounding detached and cynical at the same time, and also pissed off.
Really good stuff." |

"So much is
terrific is about Charles Lyonhart's new album, 'Down to the Hard Line.'
First the songs. They leap from the speakers with vivid, colorful
characters, engrossing, dramatic stories and provocative and poetic
lyrics." |

"Lyonhart and band create roar
with new CD" by Steve Israel in The Times Herald-Record |

"Released on
Lyonhart's own label, the album kicks off with "New Moon," on which his
vocal sounds like T-Bone Burnett, whose songwriting is also reminiscent,
as is Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt, on other tracks. Some of the
softer songs would be worthy of Willy Nelson to cover." |

| The CD has 11
tracks in all, featuring the title track “Down To The Hard Line” written
for Charles by his long time friend and collaborator Lincoln Schleifer.
"Sweet Release”, a gem of a production, was written and produced for
Charles by Larry Campbell. “The Sad, Sad Romance of the Road” was
co-written by both Larry and Lincoln and provides Lyonhart with a complete
new road to explore. |
| |
| The CD also
features “Gone To Meet His Maker” with Warren Haynes playing a fiery slide
guitar, the Lyonhart classic “Any Price For Sleep”, "New Moon”, and
several more new Lyonhart compositions. “Just Like You”, co-written by
Charles & Larry, is Charles’ autobiographical tale of his long journey
back from his experiences into the darkness. The multi-talented guitarist
Larry Campbell not only plays on every song, he also produced half of
Lyonhart's newest CD. |
